How often should my dog be groomed?
18 Sep 2026 ยท 4 min readIt's the question we're asked most at the salon, and the honest answer is: it depends on the coat.
Curly and wool coats, like poodles, doodles and bichons, keep growing and tangle easily. Every 4โ6 weeks keeps them comfortable and mat-free.
Wire coats, such as border terriers and schnauzers, do best with a hand-strip every 8โ12 weeks, which keeps the coat's natural texture and colour.
Short, smooth coats need far less, but a bath, nail trim and ear clean every 8โ10 weeks still makes a big difference.
